Hello there, aspiring and emerging Songleaders.

I am inspired to share with you here a personal story about my first Songleader training ten years ago, and the journey it took me to get there. 

In 2014, I was ready to commit in a much larger way to my future as a Songleader. I found the Community Choir Leadership Training, which is the flagship Songleader training in North America located in Victoria, BC. It’s a 12-day intensive training that cost $2400 at the time (now $3200) and did not include the cost of meals, accommodations, or travel.

At the time, I was living on the west coast, where I was farming and working part-time as a nanny. I had very little money, but I knew in my bones that I needed to go to the Community Choir Leadership Training. It was a clear and passionate Yes. And from that place, I was able to get creative and resourceful to raise the money. I worked extra hours, fundraised among my community, and… the next month, I was there.

I am sharing this personal story, to acknowledge the big investment that I know this training will be for some of you. And also to acknowledge that it can take a lot of courage to say Yes to this type of investment, to your future, and to the skills you will develop in this training. I know this personally, because I was standing in your shoes ten years ago.

There are two partial scholarship spots available for this training that are being offered at a discount of $540 for each spot. These spots are for folks who have significant financial barriers, and for whom the cost of the training would be considered a financial hardship rather than a financial sacrifice.
